On June 7, 2025, Rugged Land officially kicked off its journey with our first job: mowing a 0.5-acre pasture just outside of Walla Walla. The property was completely overgrown with tall grass, thistles, and invasive star thistle, making it not only unusable but also a fire hazard.

Tackling Overgrowth with the Right Equipment
While our skid steer brush cutter was unavailable at the time, we adapted by putting our John Deere tractor with a brush mower to work. In just one hour, we were able to knock down the thick growth and leave the land clean, manageable, and safer. Mowing a pasture in Walla Walla gave us the perfect opportunity to put our equipment and skills to the test.
This job reminded us of why Rugged Land was created, to help rural property owners take back control of their land and keep it in good condition. Whether it’s fire prevention, pasture restoration, or reclaiming overgrown areas, we’re proud to offer efficient and reliable land management services.
Why Pasture Mowing Matters
Controls invasive weeds like star thistle
Improves pasture usability for animals or equipment access
Reduces wildfire risk during hot Eastern Washington summers
Enhances overall land appearance and health
This was just the beginning for Rugged Land, and we’re excited to continue serving the Walla Walla Valley with practical, hardworking solutions for brush clearing, mowing, and more.
